Privacy notice

This notice explains what Lakaz Fresh collects when you use our website, lakazfresh.mu, or the Lakaz Fresh app, and how we use it. We handle your data under the Mauritius Data Protection Act 2017.

What we collect

• Your account: your name, email address and phone number.
• Delivery addresses: the address details you type, the pin you place on the map, and any delivery notes.
• Your activity: your orders, basket, favourites, the farms you follow, your reviews and your conversations with the Lakaz Fresh assistant.
• Your location, only when you ask: when you tap "Use my location" on the map, your device shares its location once so the map can centre on you. We keep only the pin you confirm. The place you choose for deliveries on the home page stays on your device, and is sent with your requests so we can show which farms deliver there.
• Riders' position, while on shift: if you deliver for Lakaz Fresh, your phone shares its position every few seconds while you are on shift, including while you use another app for directions. It stops as soon as you go off shift.
• Photos, for farms: if you run a farm on Lakaz Fresh, the product photos you take or choose.
• Sign-in: essential cookies on the website, and sign-in tokens kept in your phone's secure storage in the app. We use your IP address to protect sign-in from abuse.

How we use it

To take and deliver your orders, coordinate with the farms preparing them, keep you informed about your order, answer your questions and keep Lakaz Fresh secure. With your consent, we may also send occasional offers.

Who we share it with

• The farms preparing your order and the rider delivering it, who receive your name, phone number, delivery address and notes.
• While a rider has your order, you see the rider's first name, type of vehicle and position on a map, until the order arrives. The Lakaz Fresh team sees every rider's position while they are on shift.
• Google Maps, which shows the map, finds the places you search for and names the area of your pin.
• Service providers that host and run Lakaz Fresh for us, such as hosting, storage and email delivery. They handle your data only on our behalf.

We do not sell your data and we do not use advertising trackers.

How long we keep it

We keep your account data until you delete your account. Orders stay in the farms' records for accounting; once your account is deleted, they no longer carry your name or contact details. For riders we keep the latest position and the route of the last three days.

Deleting your account

You can delete your account and its data at any time:

• In the app: open You, then tap Delete account.
• On the website: sign in, open My account, go to Profile and choose Delete account.
• By email: write to [email protected] from the email address on your account.

We remove your account, saved addresses, basket, favourites, followed farms, notifications and assistant conversations. Orders that are delivered or cancelled stay in the farms' records without your name, email, phone or address, and your reviews stay up as "Former customer". An order still on its way keeps its delivery details until it arrives.

Your rights

You can access, correct or export your data by contacting us, and delete it as described above. You can withdraw marketing consent at any time.
